AI Security University (“AISEC,” “AISEC University,” “AISEC U,” “we,” “us” or “our”) is a free, vendor-neutral AI security education platform operated by IntelHero, LLC. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.
01Who we are
AI Security University is a free, vendor-neutral AI security education platform operated by IntelHero, LLC. This policy applies to aisec.university and its subdomains, our newsletter, our community, our course portal, and our events. Where a feature is hosted on a third-party platform, that platform's own privacy practices also apply — we note these in Section 6.
If you have questions, contact us at dan@aisec.university.
02Information we collect
Information you give us
When you subscribe to the newsletter, enroll in a course, join the community, or register for an event, we collect your name, email address, company, and job title. Depending on what you do, you may also choose to give us more — such as a community profile, responses to a poll or survey, questions submitted during a webinar, or correspondence you send us by email.
Information collected automatically
When you visit aisec.university, our servers and analytics providers log standard request data: IP address (typically truncated), user agent, referring page, the pages you view, and the date and time of the visit. Cookies and similar technologies are described in Section 7.
03How we use it
We use personal information to:
- deliver the newsletter, courses, community, and events you've signed up for;
- operate, maintain, and improve the site and our learning materials;
- respond to your questions and provide support;
- send service messages (e.g. event reminders, schedule changes, course updates);
- measure aggregate engagement so we can prioritize what to build next;
- comply with law and protect AISEC, our users, and the public from abuse.
We do not use your information to build advertising profiles, and we do not run third-party ad tracking on aisec.university.
04How we share it
We share personal information only in these limited situations:
Service providers (subprocessors)
We use trusted third-party platforms to operate AISEC. They process data on our behalf, under contract, and only for the purposes we direct. These currently include providers for:
- newsletter and email delivery,
- course hosting and payments,
- community hosting,
- credentialing and digital badges,
- website hosting and analytics, and
- workflow automation between these systems.
Sponsored events and webinars (only with your knowledge)
Some events and webinars are presented with a sponsor. If registering for an event will share your registration details with that sponsor, we tell you at the point of registration and only proceed with your consent. We do not sell or rent your information to sponsors for unrelated marketing.
Legal and safety
We may disclose information if we believe in good faith that doing so is necessary to comply with a law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of AISEC, our users, or the public.
Business transfers
If AISEC or IntelHero, LLC is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, personal information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to standard confidentiality protections and this policy.
What we never do
We never sell your personal information. We don't share it with sponsors, advertisers, or data brokers for cross-context behavioral advertising.
05Aggregate and de-identified data
We may use and share aggregate, anonymized, or de-identified data — for example, the total number of subscribers, course completions, or webinar attendees — for reporting, research, and to promote the program. This data does not identify any individual.
06Third-party platforms
Several AISEC features are hosted by third parties. When you interact with these features, you're also subject to those providers' own privacy policies. The ones we use today include Beehiiv (newsletter), Kajabi (course portal and payments), Demio (webinars), Skool (community), and standard infrastructure providers for hosting and analytics. We update this list as our tooling changes.
07Cookies and analytics
We use a small number of cookies and similar technologies to keep the site working (essential cookies) and to measure aggregate usage (analytics). We do not run third-party advertising cookies, and we don't use cross-site tracking pixels. You can clear or block cookies through your browser settings; doing so may affect certain features.
08Data retention
We keep personal information only as long as we need it for the purposes described in this policy, or to comply with legal obligations. Newsletter subscribers are retained until you unsubscribe or ask to be removed. Event registrations are retained for a reasonable period after the event for follow-up and reporting. You can ask us to delete your data at any time (see Section 9).
09Your privacy rights
You can unsubscribe from the newsletter at any time using the link in every email. You can also email dan@aisec.university to request a copy of the personal information we hold about you, to correct it, or to ask us to delete it.
California residents (CCPA / CPRA)
If you live in California, you have the right to know what personal information we collect about you, the right to request access and deletion, the right to correct inaccurate information, and the right not to be discriminated against for exercising any of these rights. We do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising, as those terms are defined under California law.
European Economic Area, United Kingdom, and Switzerland (GDPR / UK GDPR)
If you're in the EEA, UK, or Switzerland, you have rights to access, rectify, erase, restrict, or object to our processing of your personal data, and to data portability where applicable. Our lawful bases for processing are typically your consent (e.g. newsletter signup), the performance of a contract (e.g. delivering a course you enrolled in), or our legitimate interests in operating and improving AISEC. You can withdraw consent at any time, and you have the right to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority.
10International transfers
AISEC is operated from the United States and uses service providers that may process data in other countries. Where we transfer personal information out of the EEA, UK, or Switzerland, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses with our providers.
11Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect personal information against loss, misuse, and unauthorized access. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, but we take this seriously — it's literally what we teach.
12Children
AISEC is intended for an adult, professional audience. We don't knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we'll delete it.
13Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we'll change the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. Material changes will be highlighted on the site or by email where appropriate.
